RC Oblique Column Construction
• The main bar of the oblique column features three steps of slopes to maintain control of the precision.
• The main bar of the oblique column is an unconventional linear steel bar and direct construction with an ordinary extender is impossible; extension with bending steel bars is very difficult.
3D Irregularly Curved Exterior Wall System
• It is difficult to integrate interfaces of different members and removal and preparation of the processing layout of members takes effort and time.
• There is a huge number of types of members; reinforce the management (of the member processing layout, manufacturing, transportation, compilation, and suspension) in order to avoid errors.
• The irregularly curved wind resistant columns are placed according to the 3D coordinates with the geodimater and the large curvature wind resistant column is processed and controlled adopting high frequency bay processing in order to reduce welding and enhance the processing precision and quality.
• For secondary skeleton installation, the segmental method is particularly developed to control the installation precision (40*80 and 30*60 square tubes). Independent columns with a relatively small curvature radius and irregularity, on the other hand, are installed with the shaped square tubes in order to add to the curvature smoothness of the exterior wall.
• The whole project consists of 849 unit cell windows in total. In order to accommodate the irregular curvature variation of the exterior wall, each piece has a different size and angle. Therefore, site measurements are taken piece by piece and members whose 3D sizes may be adjusted are added in order to control installation precision and aesthetic look.
• At the 3D curvature and fillet, before the circular mosaic tiles are attached, simulate a trial adopting a different curvature radius at the composite fillet.
